choice of rig P 3
Having the tow vehicle defined, the choice of towed vehicle was a
given,
a Travel Trailer (TT)
My requirements were that for a brief time frame (less than 3 weeks
at a time) I need to accommodate up to 6 people and that on 26 feet
length or less.
There are many TTs available in that length with "bunkhouse" type
layouts, but all I could find are severely lacking in carrying
capacity and size of water tanks.
Then by accident, I stumbled on the class of trailer commonly
called a Toy Box or Toy House. These have a living part and a
(empty) garage part, usually in the rear with a ramp door for loading
the Toys.
Reading the specs I found to my delight that most of them had good
carrying capacity - they have to carry quad runners, dirt bikes,
Harleys, etc - and they have much larger tank capacities, too -
playing in the dirt with the toys makes one wish for a long shower
afterwards.
The shorter Toy Boxes I was considering, usually had two
convertible benches lengthwise in the garage area. They can be flipped
flat against the wall to make room for the toys and they convert into
two reasonable sized beds.
Then I found a 2005 K-Z Sportster 22 at a dealer in NH.
