For the time being I will be using a Verizon Cell phone with the xx plan and National Access for data. To get better reception in fringe areas I am using a Wilson Trucker Cellular antenna and the Wilson Cellular/PCS Direct Connection Amplifier. This combination has already proven to be able to generate a reliable connection, under circumstances where the cell phone by itself did not show any signal. 

Currently I am mostly using the free evening and weekend minutes for web access and publishing, and email. 

While not broadband speed, www.testmy.net has occasionally shown 2 Mbs down, 0.2 up - but sometimes much less.

If my boondocking pattern show that I will be mostly out of Verizon coverage, I may consider a tripod sat system.

OTOH the better my connection is, the more will I tend to sit behind the screen, which defeats the purpose of my full timing life.
